Sunday, July 3rd, 2016: Outlaws Crawford Smacks 5 Hits
Artie Crawford was on quite a roll today as he knocked the ball all over the park, collecting 5 hits and leading the Outlaws to a 9-2 victory over the Montana Mustangs.

After the first three hits, all eyes in the ballpark were drawn to him each time he stepped into the batter's box. Even a few of the opposing fans were pulling for him, knowing they were watching a little baseball-hitting history unfold.

In the clubhouse, crowded by reporters, the Tombstone center fielder said, "I never realized that batting a little ball around could cause so much commotion." When asked what the secret of hitting so well is, he smiled and replied, "The key to hitting for a high average is to relax, concentrate and hit the ball where they ain't."

Nobody was at home today as Crawford finished the day with 5 hits in 5 at-bats and a line in the record book.

A. Crawford singled in the 1st, singled in the 4th, doubled in the 5th, singled in the 7th and hit a two-run home run off J. Davis in the 9th.

This season Crawford has hit at a .325 clip and produced 33 RBIs, 6 home runs and 41 runs scored.
Friday, July 1st, 2016: Pacific Names Rookie of Month
Myles Chasteen was toddling around on his tricycle when some of the guys he's playing against were in their prime, but the 22-year-old right fielder definitely knows how to get to first, second or beyond. Today he was chosen June's Pacific Rookie of the Month for his remarkable month of hitting.

In 24 games Chasteen batted .306 for Montana, slapping 26 hits in 85 at-bats with 1 home run, drove in 7 runs and scored 12 times.

This year Chasteen is batting .350 with 3 home runs. He has scored 40 runs and driven in 37.
Monday, June 13th, 2016: Bragg Pitches Montana to Shutout Win
Willie Bragg of Montana easily handled the Baton Rouge Gators, stopping them on 6 hits and chucking a complete-game 7-0 shutout.

"He really did a job on us," said the Baton Rouge manager. "He had good command of his pitches. He changed speeds well and pretty much confused us. We never could zero in on him, but he certainly zeroed in on us."

Bragg said, "Everything was working for me. Throwing my breaking stuff over the plate was big."

He finished the game with 7 strikeouts and no walks in a solid outing.

To date in 2016, Bragg has registered 14 starts, 4-6 won-lost mark, 3.65 ERA, 101 IP, 75 strikeouts and 17 walks. Opposing teams have hit .275 against him.
