Breaking News Friday, July 1st, 2016: Aguallo Cops SL Batter of the Month Honors For a rookie just breaking in, Roberto Aguallo certainly put together a successful month. It was good enough to win the SL Batter of the Month award for June. The 22-year-old first baseman for the South Padre Party Animals hit .372 with 6 home runs, 17 RBIs and 14 runs scored. This season in 58 games Aguallo is batting .327 with 7 home runs, 37 RBIs and has scored 23 times. Monday, May 30th, 2016: Freeburn Smacks 5 Hits for Buffaol Bismark second baseman Millard Freeburn could do no wrong in today's 9-5 win over the Party Animals as he collected 5 hits. "In every one of his at-bats things were in his favor... he got hitter's counts," the skipper of the Party Animals said to the press corps after the game. Freeburn agreed. "The key is getting ahead. Once you get ahead, it makes it a lot easier because you get a better pitch to hit. You know the pitcher has to come in with it. And you're ready." M. Freeburn singled in the 2nd, hit an RBI double in the 4th, hit a three-run double in the 5th, singled in the 7th and hit a solo-shot off G. Mounsey in the 9th. So far this season Freeburn is batting .378 with 1 home run. Monday, May 30th, 2016: Stapleton Names #1 Player His hard work and hustle paid off this week. The hard-working and hard-playing Ramiro Salazar was rewarded with the Stapleton Player of the Week honors. The scrappy South Padre Party Animals third baseman hit .471 while collecting 8 hits in 17 at-bats, 3 home runs and 7 RBIs. Thus far this year Salazar has hit .415 with 4 home runs and 12 RBIs.
