| Breaking News | | Sunday, July 10th, 2016: Jackson Whitewashes Boise, Requena Winner Spiro Requena of the Jackson Generals was on fire against Boise. He shut them down 3-0 on 5 hits and no runs with 6 strikeouts and 2 walks.
"The first two pitches I'm looking for an out, a ground ball or a fly ball," Requena said. "I'm trying to get quick outs. I've never been a big believer in trying to strike a guy out from the very first pitch. It's too easy to end up behind in the count doing that."
In 2016 Requena has compiled a 12-2 record with a 2.62 ERA in 16 starts. | | Monday, July 4th, 2016: Hard to Handle Hitter Wins ML Honor Gerard Haggett burst onto the Mesek stage in a big way last week. This promising rookie third baseman for Boise garnered everyone's respect by putting up some remarkable numbers and picking up the Player of the Week trophy.
The 20-year-old haunted opposing pitchers hitting .500 (12-24) with 1 home run and 12 RBIs last week.
This year Haggett is batting .250 with 2 home runs and 37 RBIs. In 64 games he has scored 25 times. | | Friday, June 17th, 2016: Jackson Bewilders Inhalers "I had everything working for me out there. I used every one of my pitches, hit both sides of the plate really well and felt like I could do whatever I wanted."
With stuff like that, it was easy for Q.C. Jackson of the Farm Boys to handcuff the Inhalers 1-0 and come away with a complete-game 1-hit shutout. He recorded 12 strikeouts and no walks in an impressive performance.
