| Breaking News |  | Sunday, June 19th, 2016: Puhl Pitches Island Warriors to Shutout Victory
The Monterey Monarchs met their match today in Hawaii hurler Steve Puhl. He kept them guessing the whole game and spun a 4-hit shutout.
"He just worked us over," the Monterey skipper said. "He probably didn't even take a shower after the game. I don't think he even worked up a sweat. They could probably pitch him again tomorrow."
In the 4-0 victory Puhl whiffed 13 and gave up no walks.
In 2016 Puhl has worked 105.2 innings with 130 strikeouts en route to a 7-5 record and 1.87 ERA.

 | Thursday, June 9th, 2016: Ithaca Bats Silenced by Galuán
In an outstanding mound performance Benicio Galuán fired a complete-game shutout against the Atoms. He tossed a 4-hitter for Monterey to beat Ithaca 4-0 at Austin Stadium.
This season Galuán has a 6-4 record with a 2.17 ERA in 13 starts.

 | Saturday, June 4th, 2016: Sautelle Suffers Injury
Watching Jesús Sautelle getting helped off the field today at Austin Stadium, fans of the Monterey Monarchs feared the worst. The news wasn't quite as bad as initially feared, but the second baseman will miss 3-4 weeks with a strained back muscle. "We feel we've dodged a bullet. When you see a guy break down like that, you worry right away," a team spokesman said. Sautelle suffered the injury throwing the ball in the game against the Quakes.
During the current season Sautelle is batting at a .376 clip with 3 home runs and 19 RBIs. He has played in 56 games and scored 39 times.
