| Breaking News | | Tuesday, July 5th, 2016: Cavemen Placido Blanks Cajuns
Farruco Placido of the Carlsbad Cavemen really strutted his stuff on the mound today with a 2-0 victory. He was almost untouchable, bewildering the Lafayette Cajuns with a 4-hit shutout in which he struck out 10 and gave up 2 walks.
In 13 starts this year Placido has crafted a 5-5 record and a 3.73 ERA.

| Tuesday, June 14th, 2016: Placido Records Shutout Against Saints
Farruco Placido of the Carlsbad Cavemen was quite impressive as he blanked the St. Simon Saints 2-0 at Ballpark of Carlsbad. He crafted a 2-hit shutout and chalked up 6 strikeouts with 2 walks in the contest.
This year Placido has posted a 3-3 mark in 8 starts and has a 4.17 ERA.

| Monday, June 13th, 2016: FL Votes Carlsbad Catcher Top Player
23-year-old Joe Bélanger made a few Carlsbad headlines during this past week as the rookie catcher proved he could compete at the plate with his high-school idols. He captured the attention of fans, journalists and Ferris officials last week and today took home Player of the Week honors for his effort.
He cracked 12 hits in 20 at-bats to put up a .600 average. Bélanger collected 1 home run, 5 RBIs and scored 5 runs.
So far this year Bélanger is batting .349 with 4 home runs.
