Wes Grove of the San Antonio Texans whitewashed the Miami Beach Bums 3-0 in a complete-game win, limiting them to 5 hits while chalking up 2 strikeouts and giving up 1 walk.
Talking to BNN writers after the game, his manager said, "He's got the makeup. He's not afraid to challenge guys. Wes is pretty poised out there. He knows how to pitch and how to use his stuff."
This season-to-date Grove has 12 wins and 2 losses and a 2.71 ERA.

| Monday, July 4th, 2016: FL's Star Player Named
21-year-old Mike Davis sent shock waves through WWBL Double A last week with an eye-popping performance that brought him the Ferris Player of the Week Award.
A newcomer to the league, Davis made the establishment sit up and take notice, punishing opposing pitchers with a .346 average, 9 hits in 26 at-bats, 5 home runs and 12 runs batted in.
Where the San Antonio Texans left fielder goes from here, only the baseball gods know for sure, but Davis certainly made his mark last week.
This year Davis has batted at a .300 pace with 81 hits, 11 home runs, 33 RBIs and scored 52 times.

| Thursday, June 30th, 2016: West Virginia Blanked by Ban
"Good pitching beats good hitting" is an old baseball adage.
Well, good pitching also beats bad batting.
In his postgame interview the West Virginia manager said, "Han-wu Ban made us look real bad today. He was outstanding. He was down in the zone with all his pitches. Everything was sinking."
Ban had 3 strikeouts, no walks and allowed only 2 hits as the San Antonio Texans whitewashed the West Virginia Miners 7-0.
To date in 2016, Ban sports a 7-4 mark with a 3.29 ERA in 13 starting assignments. He has held the opposition to a .250 batting average and has 72 strikeouts in 98.1 innings.
