| Breaking News | | Monday, June 27th, 2016: Ferris's Best Batter Announced
This week's standout performer in the Ferris was third baseman Edgardo Brown of the Prince George Sledders.
He belted out a .563 average and was voted the Player of the Week. Over the last week Brown collected 9 hits in 16 at-bats and no home runs, drove in 1 runs and scored 2 times.
This year Brown has 1 home run and a .326 batting average.

| Saturday, June 11th, 2016: Russell Sharp, Whitewashes River Rats
"That's one thing that has never changed in this game -- pitching can control hitting," the Sledders manager told reporters after today's game.
The River Rats ran into a buzzsaw as Vallis Russell cut them down to size 4-0 with a 5-hit shutout.
His skipper added, "He knows exactly what he's doing. He's not going to throw you a good pitch until you make him throw one."
In the complete game whitewash the Prince George hurler doled out no walks and registered 12 strikeouts.
In the postgame press conference his catcher said, "Vallis goes out there and just goes about his business. I don't think he gets too concerned about what's going on. You can call any pitch and you know where he's going to be."
Russell also got some praise from the Memphis manager.
"He really kept us in check today. Everything looked to be moving. Seemed like the pitch was right down the middle and it went over down and away... we took some pathetic swings."
In 2016 Russell has compiled a 5-2 mark with a 2.15 ERA in 11 starts. In pitching 75.1 innings he has 85 strikeouts and 10 walks while limiting the opposition to a .209 batting average.

| Friday, June 3rd, 2016: Sledders Yuke Blanks Waverunners
Prince George was pleased to see so many goose eggs up on the scoreboard today as Jim Yuke blanked Vero Beach 5-0. He stopped them on 4 hits with 2 walks and 11 strikeouts.
His skipper said, "Once he gets in a groove, he can be dynamite. He was on top of his game in this one."
In 8 starts this season Yuke has gathered 3 wins while suffering 2 losses. He has pitched 65.1 innings, allowed 56 hits, struck out 57 and has a 2.07 ERA.
