| Breaking News | | Friday, July 8th, 2016: Alfonso at His Best, Blanks West Virginia
Oro Alfonso of the Lafayette Cajuns shut out the West Virginia Miners 3-0, stopped them on 5 hits and had 6 strikeouts and 1 walk in a strong outing.
After the game his manager said, "He just came out and was on the attack from the first pitch he threw. When Oro stays ahead in the count, he does well. That's the key."

 | Tuesday, July 5th, 2016: Cavemen Placido Blanks Cajuns
Farruco Placido of the Carlsbad Cavemen really strutted his stuff on the mound today with a 2-0 victory. He was almost untouchable, bewildering the Lafayette Cajuns with a 4-hit shutout in which he struck out 10 and gave up 2 walks.
In 13 starts this year Placido has crafted a 5-5 record and a 3.73 ERA.

| Wednesday, June 29th, 2016: Castenos Torches Waverunners for 5 Hits
At Pale Hose Ballpark Ximenes Castenos was the King of Swing today in the 11-2 win over the Waverunners. The Lafayette left fielder stepped into the batter's box 6 times against the Vero Beach and delivered 5 hits.
It was a sensational game for him. He told the press, "Unbelievable feeling. It felt good. 5 for 6! It does wonders for your batting average, too."
X. Castenos hit an RBI single in the 1st, hit an RBI double in the 3rd, singled in the 4th, hit a two-run home run off Y. Yi in the 6th, doubled in the 8th and grounded out in the 9th.
For the year Castenos is batting .277 with 18 hits and 1 home run. He has scored 13 times and driven in 9.
