| Breaking News |  | Monday, June 27th, 2016: Pettis Picked WL Player of the Week
Bosworth Pettis of the Starkville Bulldogs had an outstanding week and today was voted the Player of the Week by the Ward.
For the week the 19-year-old center fielder batted .391 (9-23) with 2 home runs and 7 RBIs.
So far this season Pettis has 11 home runs and a .301 batting average.

 | Wednesday, June 22nd, 2016: Cattlemen Blanked by Frost
Richard Frost came out firing strikes and when the game ended, the Bulldogs hurler had struck out 6 in leading Starkville over the Kearney Cattlemen 1-0. Frost allowed just 4 hits in the ballgame.
In 2016 Frost has fashioned a 7-4 mark, 3.48 ERA and pitched 113.2 innings. Opposing clubs are batting .254 against him and he has logged 80 strikeouts.

 | Monday, June 6th, 2016: Toughest Out of the Week Wins WL Award
So far in his young career, Wilson Jil has kept a low profile, but after his performance at the plate last week, he attracted the notice of the rest of the Ward in a big way as he was named the Player of the Week today for his efforts.
The 19-year-old Starkville Bulldogs shortstop hit at a torrid .480 clip as he collected 12 hits in 25 at-bats, 1 home run, 10 RBIs and 8 runs scored.
Thus far in 2016 Jil has hit .355 with 2 home runs, 26 RBIs and scored 28 runs.
