Tuesday, July 5th, 2016: 5-5 Game for Ward
Harry Ward exploded for a barrage of base hits today at Prisoners Ballpark. The Shreveport first baseman had a field day in the 17-3 triumph over the Vancouver Grizzlies, finishing with a 5-5 day and a spot in the league record book.

"My hitting philosophy is pretty simple," he said. "I focus on just seeing the ball and I try to get a good pitch."

Well, Ward must have focused at least 5 times and apparently got some good pitches, too. It was one of his best days ever with the bat.

H. Ward doubled in the 3rd, singled in the 4th, singled in the 5th, hit a GRAND SLAM off I. Deocampo in the 6th and singled in the 7th.

So far this season Ward has 4 home runs and a .432 batting average.

Tuesday, June 21st, 2016: Calhoun Twirls Goats to Shutout Victory
Rob Calhoun of the Colorado City Goats was firing on all cylinders against the Shreveport Prisoners. He blanked them 7-0 on 5 hits and posted 5 strikeouts and 1 walk.

In 2016 Calhoun has compiled a 8-2 mark with a 3.01 ERA in 12 starts.

Monday, May 30th, 2016: Maldonado Belts 5 Hits
Cisco Maldonado exploded for a barrage of base hits today at Ballpark of Montreal. The Montreal left fielder had a field day in the 10-6 triumph over the Shreveport Prisoners, finishing with a 5-6 day and a spot in the league record book.

"My hitting philosophy is pretty simple," he said. "I focus on just seeing the ball and I try to get a good pitch."

Well, Maldonado must have focused at least 5 times and apparently got some good pitches, too. It was one of his best days ever with the bat.

C. Maldonado singled in the 1st, hit an RBI single in the 3rd, hit an RBI single in the 5th, flied out in the 7th, hit an RBI single in the 9th and hit a GRAND SLAM off J. Everly in the 11th.

Maldonado is swinging at a .239 pace on the year with 10 home runs, 28 RBIs and 22 runs scored. He has played in 53 games.
