| Breaking News |  | Wednesday, June 8th, 2016: Hollingsworth Gone for Season in Savannah
The season is ending on a bad note for Bill Hollingsworth, center fielder for the Savannah Confederates. It was announced today that he will miss the rest of the season because of injury. Hollingsworth was hurt against the Alaska Ice Dogs while colliding with a player at a base. He suffered a torn ankle ligaments and will be out for at least 11-12 months.
Hollingsworth on the season is batting .257 with 4 home runs. His totals include 22 RBIs and 27 runs scored. He has played in 59 games.

 | Thursday, June 2nd, 2016: Salas's Hit Streak Over
Maybe it really is taboo to talk about a hitting streak before it's over. Hours after speaking to the press about his 25-game hitting streak, Quebec third baseman Hipolito Salas went hitless in 4 at-bats today in the Mounties 2-1 win over Savannah at Civic Gardens Ballpark.
In a post-game interview, he stated, "Nope, not superstitious. Streaks don't last forever. Nobody jinxed me. I've heard about it everyday for weeks now. My roomie told me to get a hit before every game and wished me luck. I just ran out of hits."
His manager commented, "It's not like we could go 25 games without talking to him."
This season Salas is batting .332 with 4 home runs.

| Wednesday, June 1st, 2016: Salas Hits in 25 Straight Games
At Civic Gardens Ballpark today Quebec third baseman Hipolito Salas stretched his consecutive-game hitting streak to 25 games with 1 hit against the Savannah Confederates. However, the Mounties came up short on the scoreboard and lost the game 4-1.
H. Salas flied out in the 1st, flied out in the 4th, flied out in the 6th and singled in the 9th.
In 2016 Salas is batting .338 with 4 home runs.
