In an impressive outing, Ryan Deese whitewashed the Fairfax Foxes 2-0.
"I'm getting a lot more downward movement instead of side to side. That side-to-side stuff can get hit a long way," said Deese, who is throwing with more of an overhand motion.
"It's not rocket science. It was just a little adjustment, but that's all it took."
The Brooklyn hurler held Fairfax scoreless, allowed 2 hits, chalked up no strikeouts and yielded 2 walks.
To date this year, Deese shows a 3-7 record, 11 starts, 63.1 innings, 32 strikeouts and a 6.25 ERA.

Juan Nurguía of the Reno Keno really put on a pitching clinic today at Ballpark of Reno as he struck out 15 Fairfax Foxes in a 5-1 victory. Nurguía was simply magnificent as he held the Foxes to 6 hits and had 4 walks in the game.
"My fastball was okay," Nurguía said, "but my breaking stuff really hurt them. I also have to thank my catcher for calling a great game."
When asked about Nurguía's performance, the Keno manager shook his head and said, "Yeah, he was pretty good out there today. He was dominating today."
To date in 2016, Nurguía sports a 6-1 mark with a 2.28 ERA in 9 starting assignments. He has held the opposition to a .235 batting average and has 86 strikeouts in 71 innings.
