Jarred Thornton of the Anchorage Blizzard was one tough customer on the hill today. He blanked the Tulsa Tornados 2-0 on 2 hits, registering 7 strikeouts and 1 walk.
"When he's on, he's tough to hit," said the Tulsa manager after the game. "He's just a bulldog out there."
This year Thornton has compiled a 6-5 record with a 2.65 ERA in 13 starts.

 | Sunday, June 19th, 2016: Season Ends for Su-gyung Kim of Anchorage
Su-gyung Kim has to call it a season. The Anchorage Blizzard first baseman sustained a season-ending injury against the Charleston Sea Dogs and will not play again this year according to club doctors. Kim was injured while running the bases. His doctors diagnosed it as a torn hamstring muscle and stated that he would not be able to play for 7-8 months.
Kim is hitting .337 in 2016 with 20 RBIs and 2 home runs.

| Thursday, June 16th, 2016: Blizzard Thornton Has 16 Ks
Jarred Thornton of the Anchorage Blizzard struck out an amazing 16 batters today at Blizzard Ballpark and whipped the Salt Lake Devils 5-1. Thornton allowed 6 hits and gave up 2 walks in a sensational mound performance.
"I really felt like I had complete command of all my pitches during the game," said a smiling Thornton when asked about his stellar outing. "These types of games don't happen all the time, so I'm going to savor this one for a while."
This year Thornton has compiled a 5-5 record with a 2.90 ERA in 12 starts.
