| Breaking News | | Sunday, June 5th, 2016: Arai 5-5 for Hurricanes It seemed that New Orleans first baseman Tsuginori Arai could do no wrong as the Hurricanes kayoed the Sea Dogs 12-2 today as he rapped out 5 hits in 5 at-bats. Charleston pitchers couldn't get him out as Arai seemed to know which pitches they were throwing.
"I think the Hurricanes were stealing signs," growled one unhappy Charleston fan.
"I just felt good today. I saw the ball well and just wanted to make good contact and put the ball in play," exclaimed the jubilant Arai in the postgame press interview.
T. Arai walked in the 1st, singled in the 2nd, singled in the 4th, singled in the 6th, singled in the 7th and doubled in the 9th.
This season-to-date Arai has no home runs and a .310 batting average. | | Saturday, May 28th, 2016: Morán Sizzles, Scottsdale Fizzles Pacorro Morán, the 24-year-old Charleston hurler, tamed the Scottsdale Suns 2-0 at Sea Dogs Ballpark today. He limited them to 5 hits while fanning 8 and walking 0.
In the current season in 7 starts, Pacorro Morán has a record of 4-2 with 44 strikeouts in 53 innings and a 3.23 ERA. | | Saturday, May 28th, 2016: Wong May Depart Charleston It is unknown at this time if there is any truth to the rumor that Charleston's Johnathon Wong has asked his team for a trade. Insiders indicate the first baseman may not be happy with the club management. So far, the team's owners have refused to comment. | | | Injuries | | Player | Injury | Out for... | Disabled List Status | | P José Apolinar | bone chips (elbow) | 5 weeks | Not on DL | | | Team Information | | Record overall | 43-46, .483 PCT | | Position in Division | 2nd, 9.0 GB | | Record at home | 22-23, .489 PCT | | Record on the road | 21-23, .477 PCT | | Record in X-inning games | 7-4, .636 PCT | | Record in one-run games | 16-14, .533 PCT | | Record versus LHP | 15-14, .517 PCT | | Record versus RHP | 28-32, .467 PCT | | Record last 10 games | 2-8, .200 PCT | | Record in April | 13-12, .520 PCT | | Record in May | 14-15, .483 PCT | | Record in June | 14-12, .538 PCT | | Record in July | 2-7, .222 PCT |
