"When he's on, he's tough to hit," said the San Marcos manager after the game. "He's just a bulldog out there."

He has pitched 115.1 innings, allowed 107 hits, struck out 95 and posted a 3.90 ERA. | | Saturday, July 9th, 2016: San Marcos Hexed: No-Hit by Abarca It was a terrific day for David Abarca of the Tulsa Tornados at Tulsa Grounds. He stood out with a fantastic 8-0 no-hitter against the San Marcos Crows.
"I knew I had a No-No going in about the sixth inning, when I noticed no one was talking to me anymore," he said, referring to the time honored superstition of teammates avoiding the pitcher so they won't jinx the no-hitter. "Don't let people fool you. Everybody on the field and in the ballpark knows what's happening. They just pretend they don't."
For the game Abarca totaled 1 walk and 6 strikeouts in a very strong outing.
The Tulsa pitching coach marveled at his performance, "His mechanics were perfect and I don't think he threw one bad pitch in the whole game. He was that good."
In pitching stats this season Abarca has rung up 6 wins and 2 losses in 8 games. He has an ERA of 2.55 and has fanned 40 batters in 60 innings. | | Thursday, June 2nd, 2016: Pérez Bashes 5 Base Hits "Ever since I picked up my first bat my coaches were always saying to keep your eye on the ball, don't overswing... just make contact and ya never know what'll happen," Rochester's Alfredo Pérez told reporters after the game. "That's all I did today. I made contact and it turned out well."
It definitely turn out well for Pérez today as he collected 5 hits in 6 at-bats against San Marcos. It turned out well for his team, too, as the Rim Jaws knocked off the Crows 18-11 at Ballpark of Rochester.
A. Pérez hit an RBI double in the 1st, singled in the 3rd, singled in the 5th, singled in the 7th, hit a three-run home run off T. Bartley in the 8th and struck out in the 8th.
This season Pérez is batting at a .289 clip with 5 home runs and 35 RBIs. | | | Injuries | | Player | Injury | Out for... | Disabled List Status | | P Griffin Segrave | fractured elbow | 4 months | Not on DL | | | Team Information | | Record overall | 42-47, .472 PCT | | Position in Division | 3rd, 10.0 GB | | Record at home | 23-22, .511 PCT | | Record on the road | 19-25, .432 PCT | | Record in X-inning games | 6-3, .667 PCT | | Record in one-run games | 7-17, .292 PCT | | Record versus LHP | 11-17, .393 PCT | | Record versus RHP | 31-30, .508 PCT | | Record last 10 games | 3-7, .300 PCT | | Record in April | 15-10, .600 PCT | | Record in May | 15-14, .517 PCT | | Record in June | 9-17, .346 PCT | | Record in July | 3-6, .333 PCT |
