| Breaking News |  | Friday, July 1st, 2016: AL Selects Rookie Star of the Month
Danny Ramíraz earned June's Rookie of the Month honors in the Atlantic for last month's performance. The boyish Alaska left fielder might be wet behind the ears, but he's proving that he has what it takes to play at this level.
Ramíraz hit .333 with 6 home runs, 11 RBIs and 9 runs scored this past month on his way to winning the award.
Hitting .254 to date, Ramíraz has 11 home runs and 24 RBIs. He has played in 63 games.

 | Wednesday, June 8th, 2016: Ice Dogs Left Fielder Injured
Timmy Dean had to leave the Ice Dogs game against Savannah after suffering a hyperextended knee while making a defensive play. He will be out of the lineup at least 4 weeks. He told reporters, "I just felt a sharp pain when it happened. I knew there was something wrong."
During the current season Dean is batting at a .304 clip with 3 home runs and 21 RBIs. He has played in 58 games and scored 36 times.

 | Monday, June 6th, 2016: Ice Dogs Munenori Sidelined
Alaska fans will be disappointed to learn that Uragorou Munenori developed a torn abdominal muscle while running the bases in today's game. After the doctor informed the Alaska Ice Dogs manager that Munenori was expected to miss 5 weeks, the manager told the press that the rest of the team would have to step up their play until the right fielder could return. "You can't make excuses in baseball, because there's always a game tomorrow," said the team's skipper.
This season Munenori has hit at a .268 clip and produced 28 RBIs, 10 home runs and 37 runs scored.
