Marianao Jonrons first baseman Duaner Rodríguez rose above the controversy surrounding his soon-to-expire contract, thriving under pressure last week and copping the Player of the Week award in the Caribbean Baseball Organization.
Rodríguez put up a .350 batting average (7-20) with 4 home runs, 8 RBIs and scored 5 times.
This year Rodríguez has socked 66 hits in 234 at-bats for a .282 average with 14 home runs. He is getting on base at a .333 pace and his totals also include 48 RBIs and 39 runs scored.

| Thursday, July 18th, 2019: Jonrons Pares Hurt
After injuring himself, Jonrons shortstop António Pares headed straight to the hospital. He was removed from the game as a precaution after colliding with a player at a base and the team's worst fears were confirmed when it turned out to be a little more serious. Pares will miss at least 1-2 weeks with a fractured hand.
Batting .269 to date, Pares has 1 home run and 9 RBIs.

| Friday, July 5th, 2019: Cabrera Has Hot Hand, Bangs 5 hits
José Cabrera of the Jonrons was unstoppable in today's 13-4 victory over the Caracas Botos at Salmons Stadium. He battered them for 5 hits in 5 at-bats.
"Boy, I was on the mark today," said the Marianao right fielder after the game. "I could see the ball real well. It's a great feeling to do this. And besides, 5-5 won't hurt your batting average like 0-5 will."
J. Cabrera walked in the 1st, singled in the 2nd, singled in the 4th, singled in the 6th, hit an RBI single in the 8th and hit a three-run double in the 9th.
In 2019 Cabrera is batting .346 with 44 hits, 3 home runs, 23 RBIs, 15 walks, .407 OBP and has scored 18 runs. He has played in 32 games.
