| Breaking News |  | Wednesday, July 31st, 2019: Ruckus Reaps 5-Game Suspensions
In an announcement today, the league informed Cristo Mesía of Caracas and Jaivin Molina of Santa Domingo that they both had been suspended 5 games for fighting in a recent game.
The league president told them, "This type of aggressive behavior will not be tolerated in this league."
Mesía wasn't happy with the length of his suspension. He thought he got the worst deal and told the league commissioner, "In any fight, whoever throws the first punch should get a more severe penalty. If I threw the first punch, I'd expect to get the most punishment. Whoever took the blow should get a lesser punishment."
His manager agreed with him and said something needs to be done about it. "Mesía is right. The league needs to look at its policy and make sure the punishment fits the crime."
Mesía is batting at a .216 pace in 2019, picking up 45 hits in 208 at-bats with 11 home runs, 32 RBIs and 27 runs scored.
So far this year Molina has no saves in 3 relief appearances with a 4-12 record and 6.51 ERA.

 | Saturday, July 27th, 2019: Tigres Hernández to Miss Year
Doctors in Santa Domingo said Manuel Hernández may not play anymore this year. The Tigres center fielder received a fractured wrist during a game against the Salinas Kings and will be out for at least 3 months. Club officials told BNN they did not expect him to return to the team this season.
In 2019 Hernández is hitting .283 with 58 hits, 6 home runs, 30 RBIs, .381 OBP and has scored 22 runs.

| Tuesday, July 9th, 2019: Tigres Blank Havana, Molina Winner
In an excellent mound performance, Jaivin Molina of the Santa Domingo Tigres whitewashed the Havana Reds 4-0 on a 2-hitter.
He said after the game, "I had my best stuff and did a good job of mixing up my pitches."
The Havana manager said, "We just didn't swing the bats well today. Molina did a good job keeping us guessing."
In all, the Santa Domingo hurler rang up 2 strikeouts and 6 walks in the shutout win.
This season Molina has logged no saves. He has thrown 69.1 innings, dished out 29 strikeouts and walked 39 while putting up a 4-6 mark and a 6.23 ERA.
