On the hill Vinny Harris stood out and was the master of the moment as he blanked Savannah 6-0.
At bat the Confederates floundered, fizzled and failed to score.
"His fastball moves and he mixes in the slider," the Savannah manager said. "He kept us off-balance."
The Oregon pitcher hurled a 5-hit shutout in an exceptional effort. He gave up no walks and had 9 strikeouts.
"I felt good," Harris said. "That's probably the best fastball I've had all season. I was able to locate it pretty well. They were super-aggressive, which helped me."
Over the season Harris has thrown 47.1 innings and dished out 47 strikeouts with a 3-2 mark and a 2.09 ERA.

 | Wednesday, July 20th, 2016: Oliveros Guns Down Pioneers
The Oregon Pioneers struggled at the plate today against Confederates hurler Claudio Oliveros, who shackled them on 4 hits while hurling a complete game 8-0 shutout.
"What can you say? We didn't hit well," said the Pioneers skipper in his postgame comments.
"Hopefully we shake this off and bounce back tomorrow."
Oliveros finished the game with 8 strikeouts and 2 walks in an excellent mound performance.
"He pitched real well," his manager said. "Claudio made pitches when he had to. He hit his spots and did a great job of mixing in his changeup and using his fastball effectively."
In 21 starts this season Oliveros has fashioned a 9-9 record and a 3.72 ERA.
