Rodas Anchundía was sneaky fast, on the mark and hard to hit today. He blanked the Tecate Eagles 4-0 on 2 hits and had 1 walk and 9 strikeouts.
"You know what he's going to throw. You know what to expect. And you still can't hit it," the Tecate skipper told reporters after the shutout loss to the Cienfuegos Lions.
"He just had a real deceiving fastball today and he was throwing it for strikes."
His record in 2019 is 11-4 in 17 starts and Anchundía has a 1.63 ERA.

Walter Ortiz of the Tecate Eagles was firing on all cylinders against the Tijuana Toros. He blanked them 6-0 on 4 hits and posted 7 strikeouts and no walks.
This year Ortiz has compiled a 1-0 record with a 3.31 ERA.

Miguel Chávez stepped before the podium this afternoon with Tecate officials flanking him on both sides as he doffed the Eagles cap and announced he'd reached an agreement to play in Tecate for 1 year.
The deal, an estimated $1,258,000 in total, is widely seen as a positive move for an organization looking to upgrade their starting pitcher.
