Yo Sasaki of the Canberra Joeys was named the Kiwi League's best batter for his fine performance in October.
He compiled a .377 batting average and .494 on-base percentage during the month. In 17 games he piled up 26 hits, 2 home runs, 16 RBIs and 20 runs scored.

 | Friday, October 24th, 2014: Rivera Rips Queenstown for 5 Hits
All game long Canberra's Pedro Rivera was rattling the walls at Canberra Grounds and banging out base hits against the Queenstown Monarchs. When the dust finally settled on the diamond, he had a 5-hit day and the Joeys had a 15-6 victory.
Speaking with reporters after his standout performance, the 20-year-old catcher said, "Get 5 hits, win a ballgame, it's nice. I could get used to this."
P. Rivera flied out in the 2nd, singled in the 4th, hit an RBI single in the 5th, hit a two-run single in the 6th, singled in the 7th and hit a two-run home run off J. Unknown in the 9th.
This year Rivera has batted at a .366 pace with 15 hits, 1 home run, 9 RBIs and scored 4 times.
