| Breaking News |  | Sunday, July 3rd, 2016: Heathwood Fashions Shutout Against Fur Traders
Joseph Heathwood had an impressive outing today. He hurled the Chula Vista Fusion to a 4-0 shutout victory over the Greenfield Fur Traders, yielding 4 hits with 8 strikeouts and no walks.
"He threw strikes and he was always around the plate," the Greenfield skipper said. "The ball was doing everything he wanted it to do. We hit some balls hard, but they were all right at the fielders."
Heathwood has gone 9-1 this season with an ERA of 1.52 and 66 strikeouts in 77 innings pitched. Other clubs are hitting .211 against him.

How good was Alvar Curi today? Just ask the Greenfield Fur Traders, who were blanked 1-0. The Fur Traders could muster just 5 hits against the 24-year-old Biloxi hurler. In a fine showing Curi had 4 strikeouts and walked 1.
To date this season Curi is 5-2 with 7 starts and an ERA of 2.62 with 40 strikeouts in 58.1 innings.

Raymell Durrie of the Stockton Springs Stampede worked his mound magic on the Greenfield Fur Traders. He blanked them 1-0 on 6 hits, registering 5 strikeouts and 1 walk.
"Making good pitches is the name of the game and I made some good ones in this one," said Durrie to SION scribes after the game.
On his stats sheet this season Durrie shows a 6-2 record, 8 starts, 60.1 innings, 42 strikeouts and a 2.69 ERA.
