| Breaking News |  | Thursday, July 21st, 2016: San Jose SP Will Miss 3 Weeks
The San Jose Quakes got some bad news when the team learned that Pascual Gozado was likely to be out for 3 weeks after he injured himself throwing a pitch in today's game against the Hawaii Island Warriors. A round of tests by the team doctors revealed the injury to be a strained rotator cuff muscle. Upon learning of their diagnosis, the San Jose manager told the press, "As you all know, we can't control injuries -- they are a part of the game. We just have to do the best we can until Pascual is back in action."
Thus far this season Gozado has posted a 8-5 record, started 17 games, struck out 92 batters in 135 innings and compiled a 2.27 ERA.

 | Wednesday, July 20th, 2016: Season Possibly Over for Ken Guinane
Ken Guinane of the Quakes just might have to call it quits for the season. The 23-year-old San Jose starting pitcher received a possible season-ending injury against the Hawaii Island Warriors recently at Legends Memorial Park. Guinane suffered back spasms while throwing a pitch. The Quakes medical staff said he could be out quite some time, as much as 7 months.
So far this season Guinane has a record of 8-6 with 73 strikeouts and 25 walks in 148.2 innings and a 2.48 ERA.

How good was Roark Williams today? Just ask the San Jose Quakes, who were blanked 9-0. The Quakes could muster just 6 hits against the 22-year-old Havana hurler. In a fine showing Williams had 7 strikeouts and walked 0.
In 2016 Williams has compiled a 5-6 record with a 3.94 ERA.
