| Breaking News | | Tuesday, July 12th, 2016: Lares Sharp in Shutout The final score was 5-0 in favor of Dakota. Leading the way to victory was Lúcio Lares, who shackled the Spokane Bulldogs and held them scoreless on a 4-hitter.
This season Lares has fanned 84 in 106.2 innings and collected a 5-6 record with a 4.30 ERA. | | Friday, July 8th, 2016: Montes Cardénaz Suffers Injury The Dakota Coyotes will have to make do without Montes Cardénaz for 2-3 weeks. He suffered a strained tricep tendon while throwing a pitch in the game today against the Louisville Sluggers. His teammates, understandably, were upset about losing the reliever. "That's a tough break for him," one of them said. "But this team is resilient. We will just fill in until he gets back." Cardénaz will miss 2-3 weeks.
Cardénaz has taken the mound for 20 relief appearances this season, nailing down no saves while notching a 4-1 record with a 2.65 ERA. The Dakota reliever has limited opposing batters to a .287 batting average. | | Thursday, June 9th, 2016: Joji Tags Number 300 The Dakota Coyotes defeated the Little Rock Wildcats 7-2 yesterday in a game that featured Emory Joji's 300th career home run.
In the clubhouse, the Coyotes first baseman spoke about the milestone achievement. "To be honest, I don't even remember my first home run," he said. "But this one I don't think I'll forget. Who knows if I'll hit another hundred, or fifty, or even ten?"
On his historic day, Joji banged out 1 hit in 4 at-bats and scored 1 run with 3 RBI.
In his 1289-game career Joji is batting .265 with 1185 hits, 300 home runs, 723 runs scored and 800 RBIs. | | | Injuries | | Player | Injury | Out for... | Disabled List Status | | P Montes Cardénaz | strained tricep tendon | 1 day | On DL, eligible for return | | | Team Information | | Record overall | 40-61, .396 PCT | | Position in Division | 4th, 20.0 GB | | Record at home | 23-28, .451 PCT | | Record on the road | 17-33, .340 PCT | | Record in X-inning games | 6-6, .500 PCT | | Record in one-run games | 18-17, .514 PCT | | Record versus LHP | 7-17, .292 PCT | | Record versus RHP | 33-44, .429 PCT | | Record last 10 games | 4-6, .400 PCT | | Record in April | 14-11, .560 PCT | | Record in May | 9-20, .310 PCT | | Record in June | 8-17, .320 PCT | | Record in July | 9-13, .409 PCT |
