| Saturday, September 12th, 2015: Cucalón Belts Bunch of Base Hits
What a day for Cuarto Cucalón of the North Texas Cowboys! A 5-hit hitting spree! That doesn't happen everyday! He ripped Lafayette pitching apart at Cowboys Ballpark and sparked the Cowboys to a 13-9 victory. He wrote his name in the record books, finishing up his special day 5-5.
"I'm usually a first ball hitter," Cucalón told SION reporters in the postgame press conference. "I think pitchers think batters are going to let the first one go by. I never do. I've always found that it's better to pull the trigger early in the count. Pitchers get real nasty when they get ahead of you, so I try to avoid that."
C. Cucalón hit a solo-shot off G. Diménez in the 2nd, singled in the 4th, singled in the 5th, hit an RBI single in the 6th and singled in the 8th.
So far this year Cucalón is batting .272 with 10 home runs, 48 RBIs and 46 runs scored.
