Thursday, July 29th, 2021: John Ruf went the distance at Ballpark of New Orleans today. The Salt Lake hurler yielded 4 hits, walked 0 and had 8 strikeouts in the Devils 5-0 triumph over the New Orleans Hurricanes.
Ruf has started 20 times this year, pitched 116 innings, fanned 84 batters and walked 33. His current record is 5 wins and 12 losses with a 5.51 ERA.

 | Sea Dogs Newell Dominates Rim Jaws
Thursday, July 29th, 2021: Ken Newell of the Charleston Sea Dogs was right on target when he blanked the Rochester Rim Jaws 1-0, yielded 4 hits and totaled 1 walk and 6 strikeouts.
Speaking to BNN reporters after the game, Newell said, "I had everything working today and I got some help from my defense, too. They saved my butt a few times."
In 9 starts this season Newell has rung up a 3-1 record and a 2.43 ERA.

 | Bad Boy Brawlers Suspended 4 Games
Wednesday, July 28th, 2021: Colton Price of Brooklyn and Dorsett Binion of Shreveport were the main participants in a recent bench-clearing brawl and today the league handed out its punishment. They will both miss 4 games because of their fight. League officials announced their suspensions today.
Price is hitting .274 this year with 9 home runs, 41 RBIs and 41 runs scored. He has 68 hits in 248 at-bats, 13 walks and a .313 on-base percentage. Price has played in 66 games.
This season Binion has nailed down no saves with 21 strikeouts in 21.1 innings. He is credited with no wins and 1 loss and has a 4.64 earned run average.
